“Game Over” Wins Award

Actor Morse Bicknell

We’re popping the champagne and celebrating after our short film Game Over was named a Top-10 film in Albuquerque’s highly-competitive 48-Hour Film Project competition. Not only were we up for Best Picture, but the judges awarded us “Best Special Effects.”

“We did this film for fun, but it’s still nice to win,” said director Scott Takeda. “And since this is my first film, it’s especially nice to be recognized with some of the best independent filmmakers in the US. New Mexico has become a major producer of studio films, and a lot of the folks working those films are the same talented filmmakers in this competition. They don’t call this place Tamale-wood for nothing!”

Kudos to producers Rachel Hroncich and Aynn Kirby, writer Rob Palmer, and cinematographer Fritz Eberle.

And a standing ovation to our talented cast: Courtney Bell, Morse Bicknell (Men Who Stare At Goats), LeighAnn Gould (Ink), Hroncich (Let Me In), and Brent Lambert (ABC’s Scoundrels).
